About the Client
Liam Power founded Sporthouse in Waterford in 1984 with a £400 credit union loan, making bags in the family kitchen on a sewing machine bought from his old employer. Over 40 years later, Sporthouse manufactures school bags, travel bags and rucksacks supplied internationally as well as across Ireland. We built them their first eCommerce website.
The Challenge
Sporthouse had never sold online before and needed a genuine eCommerce presence to grow beyond their existing wholesale and in-person channels — pushing the brand into the online market to hit new sales targets.
The Solution
We built a visually striking Shopify store using white space to let the bags themselves stand out, with an easy-to-manage backend so the Sporthouse team could confidently update products and banners themselves — backed by website management training, clear calls-to-action, and onsite and local SEO.
