Grants for Web Design in Ireland

There has never been more funding available to help Irish businesses invest in their online presence. From the support available through Enterprise Ireland and Local Enterprise Offices to open grants with Fáilte Ireland and Údarás na Gaeltachta, this guide covers every grant currently out there — and how to access them.

Your Website Could Cost Significantly Less Than You Think

Many Irish businesses are unaware that significant grant funding is available to help cover the cost of web design, eCommerce development, digital marketing, SEO and more. In some cases, grants can cover up to 50% of your project costs.

We’ve helped dozens of businesses across Waterford, Kilkenny, Wexford and Tipperary access grant funding for their digital projects. We understand the application processes, the eligibility criteria, and what projects are most likely to be approved — and we’re happy to guide you through it.

Enterprise Ireland — Digital and Innovation Supports for Growing Irish Businesses

Enterprise Ireland supports ambitious Irish businesses with a range of funding programmes relevant to digital investment. If your business has growth and export ambitions, Enterprise Ireland is one of the most significant sources of funding available to you.

Digital and AI Discovery

Enterprise Ireland’s flagship digital grant for 2026 — covering both digital transformation and AI adoption. Provides up to 80% grant funding to a maximum of €5,000 to hire an expert consultant who will either put in place solid digital foundations or help your business take its first steps into Artificial Intelligence. The output is a strategic digital roadmap outlining the key milestones for your business’s digital or AI transition over the next 12 to 18 months. Available to Enterprise Ireland clients in manufacturing or internationally traded services who employ 10 or more full-time staff.

Online Retail Scheme

One of the most significant grants available for Irish eCommerce businesses. Opens in competitive calls throughout the year — when open, eligible retailers can apply for grants of up to €25,000 covering up to 50% of eligible project costs. Designed for established Irish retailers with a physical store and an existing online presence who want to significantly enhance their eCommerce capability. Applications are competitive and require a clear growth strategy. There is no fixed opening date, so check the Enterprise Ireland website regularly and prepare your application in advance so you’re ready to apply as soon as a new call opens.

Agile Innovation Fund

Supports businesses developing and testing innovative products and services — including digital innovations and new online channels. Can cover up to 50% of eligible project costs for approved projects. A strong option for businesses developing genuinely novel digital products or services.

Market Discovery Fund

Supports Irish businesses exploring and entering new markets — including online markets. Can fund digital marketing activity, website development and eCommerce capability investment as part of a broader market entry strategy.

How to apply:

Enterprise Ireland primarily supports Irish-owned businesses with genuine ambition to grow and export. Eligibility varies by scheme — we’d recommend reviewing the specific criteria for each programme and speaking to an Enterprise Ireland development advisor before applying.

Local Enterprise Office (LEO) — Business Priming & Development Grants

Local Enterprise Offices are the first port of call for small businesses in Ireland seeking grant support. In 2026, the LEO network replaced the old Trading Online Voucher with two linked programmes specifically designed to help small businesses go digital — the Digital for Business consultancy and the Grow Digital Voucher.

Digital for Business

The starting point for all LEO digital supports. Digital for Business is a free, fully funded consultancy programme that assesses how digitally ready your business is and produces a clear, practical report recommending how to improve your use of digital tools. This consultancy must be completed before you can access the Grow Digital Voucher — and it’s completely free, so there’s no reason not to start here.

Grow Digital Voucher

Once you’ve completed your Digital for Business consultancy and received your report, you can apply for the Grow Digital Voucher. This grant provides 50% funding towards eligible costs, ranging from €500 up to €5,000 per project. This can be used towards software subscriptions, CRM systems, digital tools and related training/configuration. The grant covers a significant portion of eligible costs, with the business funding the remainder.

Priming Grant

For businesses in their first 18 months of trading. Can cover a range of startup costs including website development and digital marketing setup. Typically covers up to 50% of eligible costs — an excellent option for new businesses that need a professional online presence from day one.

Feasibility Study Grant

Funding to help businesses assess the viability of a new product, service or business idea — including digital transformation projects. Typically covers up to 50% of eligible costs up to €15,000.

Mentoring Programme

LEOs offer subsidised mentoring with experienced business professionals — including digital marketing and eCommerce specialists — at a fraction of the commercial rate. A valuable complement to grant funding if you want expert guidance on your digital strategy before or alongside your project.

How to apply:

Contact your local LEO directly — each of Ireland’s 31 counties has its own office. Start by requesting the Digital for Business consultancy, which will open the door to the Grow Digital Voucher. We’re experienced in working with LEO-funded projects and can help you structure your proposal and provide the documentation required.

You Haven’t Done This Before, We Have — Let Us Help

Applying for grants can feel complicated — the eligibility criteria, the application forms, the supporting documentation. We’ve helped many businesses across Waterford and the South East navigate the process successfully, and we’re happy to support you through it.

Specifically, we can help you:

  • Identify which grants you’re most likely to qualify for based on your project and business profile
  • Structure your project proposal to align with grant scheme requirements
  • Provide the technical documentation, project specifications and cost breakdowns that grant applications typically require
  • Ensure your project is delivered in a way that meets the grant scheme’s conditions and reporting requirements

Getting grant funding in place before a project begins is important — you generally can’t claim grant funding retrospectively for work already completed. If you’re considering a digital investment, it’s worth exploring your grant options first.
